Here is a video that shows honey bee activity around the hive entrance shortly after they have swarmed into this hive structure. There will be a lot of honey bee activity coming in and out of the entrance, as well as honey bees on the exterior surface of the structure they have moved into. This is very unlike an established and stable colony where you will see honey bees leaving and returning in a “beeline” with very little bee activity on the outer surface or around the entrance to their established hive.
